Time is money, so look for the ready-made ones as making even just a dozen or so will be time-consuming. You may also have a difficult time finding such light-weight paper as makes the best cups. But let’s assume that you want to make them.
The very best way to do that is to BUY a cupcake that will fit your cupcake pan and then peel off the paper cup, unfold it entirely and flatten it out. Then you will have the outline of what you will be making. (It will be nearly circular if not precisely.) Try to match some paper to the paper cup itself. Cut out the cups in a quantity that you need.
Then decide if you want them to be all nice and neat with all the folds OR with whatever folds, nips and cuts that you can put into yours to get them to hold the mixture. There is nothing that says they have even to be folded as they can be “pushed” into the pan in each cup, smoothed out as best you can, and filled, the mixture will hold them in place, and then baked.
If the cupcake is good, if it gets well decorated, has a great taste, I would think that “close” on the paper cups would be good enough for the majority of people. It would be for me as I do not eat the paper cups and simply throw them away.
Types Of Baking Cups: Make The Paper Cup
You can make paper cups pretty quickly with some parchment paper, scissors, and a mold. Tins and can work pretty well. Anything with a circular bottom about 2–3″ in diameter should do.
· Cut the parchment paper into 5×5″ squares.
· Center your mold on top of a piece of cut parchment paper. Shape the exposed edges of the paper around the frame, making a cup. Make sure to press down hard on the paper to shape it firmly
· (optional) Spray your liners with non-stick spray
· Pour in your batter and bake!
Note: these cups will need to be placed into a cupcake/muffin pan for baking as they are not sturdy enough on their own and require extra support.
